Howard Timothy Rutter
Howard Timothy Rutter, age 57, of 414 E. Phillip Street, Covington, Virginia died Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at LewisGale Hospital - Alleghany, Low Moor. He was born November 30, 1957 in Parkersburg, WV to the late Howard L. and Sue Ann Shrewsbury Rutter. He worked for Gannett Printing of Springfield, Virginia for 25 years and was the proud driver of the #5 school bus for Alleghany County Public Schools. He attended Granbery United Methodist Church and loved the Washington Redskins. He is survived by his wife, Martha Hyler Rutter of Covington; two daughters, Belva Michelle Adams of Springfield and Jennifer Lynn Rutter of Washington D.C.; three sons, Andrew Sutherland Rutter of Springfield, James Workman of Clifton Forge, and Raymond Workman and wife Kayla of Covington; his father-in-law, Len Hyler; two sisters, Rebecca Habick and husband John of Texas, and Carolyn Rutter of Centreville; five grandchildren, Clara Adams, Jacob Adams, Xavier Workman, Kaydan Workman and Kendal Workman; a number of nieces and nephews; and his precious companions, Tinkerbell and Gibbs. In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Monday evening, February 23, 2015 at 6:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Virgil Woodie officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday evening one hour prior to the service at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Woodlands Health and Rehabilitation Activities Department, 1000 Fairview Ave, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
