Howard Eugene "Gene" Page, age72, of Clifton Forge, Virginia passed away Monday, July 25, 2016 at The Highland House in Clifton Forge. Gene was born August 19, 1943 in Peterstown, West Virginia to the late Howard H. and Virdle Broyles Page. Following four years of service in the United States Air Force, he graduated with a degree in Forestry and Wildlife from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. During his time at Virginia Tech, he worked as a park ranger on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Following graduation, he worked for Virginia Tech Ag. Extension Service. He later owned and operated Page Hortiscaping and Briarcreek Nursery for several decades in Clifton Forge. Gene is survived by his daughter, Gina Page Lummus, MD, and her husband Michael Lummus of Fairfax, and his son, Travis Page of Lubbock, TX; two grandsons, Kyler Page of Midland, TX and Benjamin Lummus of Fairfax; two sisters, Gail Butler and Linda Campbell of Peterstown, WV; as well as four nephews and one niece of Peterstown, WV and their children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dennis Page. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge is handling arrangements.
