Obituary for Mary Frances Corbett (Beverage)

Mary Frances Beverage Corbett, age 88, of 709 Lee Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Monday, January 18, 2016 at her residence. She was born October 4, 1927 in Monterey, Virginia to the late Walter Ralph and Elizabeth Ryder Beverage. She was a homemaker throughout her life, but also worked for Virginia Power and T.A.P. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and enjoyed fishing. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Eldon Corbett in 1979 and two sisters, Margaret Kiely and Charlotte Swecker. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Corbett Johnson and husband Jerry of Iron Gate; a son, Joe Corbett and wife Stacey of Covington; a sister, Kate Hiner and husband Dick of McDowell; four grandchildren, Devin Corbett, Joseph Coffman, Calvin Coffman and Jermiah Johnson; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Esther Thurston of Clifton Forge. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Mr. Kenny Carroll officiating. Interment will follow on Thursday at 2:00 PM in Monterey Cemetery in Monterey. Pallbearers will be Jerry Warner, Terry Cronk, Devin Corbett, Bruce Avery, Joe Coffman, Calvin Coffman, Jermiah Johnson and Billy Hiner. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Clifton Forge Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 419, Clifton Forge, Virginia 24422.
