Louise Nicely (Morgan)
Louise Morgan Nicely, age 88, of 4817 Nicelytown Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Friday, November 6, 2015 at LewisGale Hospital- Alleghany in Low Moor. She was born January 30, 1927 in Bath County to the late Maude Putnam Brady and Ander Brady, and was raised by William Cornelius and Myrtle Putman Morgan. She spent most of her growing up years in Botetourt County and was the Salutatorian of the 1947 graduating class of Eagle Rock High School. She attended Phillips Business College in Lynchburg and graduated in 1948. She married Lloyd Wilson Nicely, Jr. on September 17, 1949. She was a member of the Lone Star Advent Christian Church, as well as the Waynesboro Advent Christian Church during the 1970's. Louise loved singing in the church choir. She was a member of the Women's Home and Foreign Mission Society. Louise loved teaching and taught in many church settings including Sunday School. She also touched many lives as a Teachers' Aide and Administrative Assistant at Sharon Elementary School from 1966 to 1971. She loved working outside in the garden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Lloyd Wilson Nicely, Jr., a brother, Elmer Elwood "Buddy" Morgan, three sisters, Mae Brady Corker, Ethel Hostetter Morgan and Emm Hostetter Myers. She is survived by her children, William Lloyd "Bill" Nicely of Clifton Forge, and Ann (Louise) Nicely of Fairmont, West Virginia; also a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Lone Star Advent Christian Church, Clifton Forge with the Reverend Doug Moore officiating, assisted by Reverend Grover Nicely and Reverend Louis Dodd. Interment will follow in the Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be Jerry Curtis, Terry Loving, Dale Muterspaugh, C.J. Nicely, Eddy Nicely, and Joe Wood. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home.
