Elizabeth Trainum Sheets
Elizabeth Trainum Sheets, age 88, of 104 Patton Farm Road, Stuarts Draft, Virginia died Sunday, July 19,2015 at her residence surrounded by her family and friends. She was born August 9, 1926 in Fordwick, Virginia to the late Thomas Jefferson Trainum and Lois Patsy Crawford Trainum. She was retired from the Alleghany Highland Public Schools where she worked for many years as the Guidance Secretary at Alleghany High School. She was a sixty year member of the Central United Methodist Church in Clifton Forge, a member of the Woman's Society of the Central United Methodist Church, she served thirteen years as a delegate to the conference of Virginia Methodist Church's, she was also a member of Clifton Forge Woman's Club, Tally Ho Garden Club, PPP Sewing Club and Several Bridge Clubs. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Lindsey Sheets, Jr. in 2005, a daughter, Ann Tinsley; two brothers, William Thomas Trainum and Douglas Justin Trainum and a sister Jean Trainum Moore. She is survived by two daughters, Beth Sheets Smith of Abingdon , Joan Sheets Melady of Roanoke; four grandchildren Charles Benjamin Smith and wife Jenny, James Willoughby Smith, Megan Elizabeth Melady, Mark Andrew Melady; three great-grandchildren, Leah Kate Smith, Charles Holston Smith and Avery Anne Melady. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Central United Methodist Church in Clifton Forge with the Reverend Lynn Wright, Father James D. Smith and Christie Hardbarger officiating. Interment will follow in the Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery in Eagle Rock. Serving as pallbearers will be Chuck Wilkerson, Matt Wilkerson, Mark Cook, Ben Smith, Mark Melady, Will Smith, Doug Trainum, Bob Kenney. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Hardbarger, Charlie Wilkerson and Bob Melady. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at Central United Methodist Church. The family suggest that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Central United Methodist Church, Women of the Church, P.O. Box 16, Clifton Forge, Va. 24422.
