Irene Marie Hoy (Nicholas)
Irene Nicholas Hoy, age 71, of 17 Cliffwood Drive, Eagle Rock, Virginia died Saturday, June 13, 2015 at her residence. Irene was born April 29, 1944 in Madison, West Virginia to the late Paul Nicholas and Rosa Faye Allen Nicholas. She was a member of the Iron Gate Baptist Church, she worked as a nursing assistant at the Taylor's Nursing Home in Clifton Forge, and she also provided private care to many individuals in their home. One of her favorite hobbies was to share her love of cooking to all those who visited her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Edward Hoy; a daughter, Johnnie Hoy Anderson; a son-in-law, Tony Chaplin; sisters, Delores Nicholas, Pauline Hager, Brenda Kay Nicholas, Anna Ruth Roberts and Bervel Ann Nicholas; and one brother Hassel Gene Nicholas. She is survived by three daughters, Vickie Kern and husband Darrell of Eagle Rock, Elizabeth Chenault and husband Robert of Clifton Forge, and Cheryl Chaplin of Stuarts Draft; a son, Paul Hoy and wife Marcie of Selma; ten grandchildren, Darrell John and wife Karie, Kaitlyn, Heather and husband James, Kristen, Jon, Nicholas, Donovan, Cole, Ashton, Brittany; a very special great grandson, Caleb John Edward; a great granddaughter, Kaliegh Ann, a very special friend, Phil Fridley; and many other special friends, and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Iron Gate Baptist Church with Reverend Hunter Hale officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge. Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Iron Gate Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O.
