Len Francis "Dit" Hyler
Len Francis "Dit" Hyler, age 81, of 1262 Commercial Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at his residence. He was born January 7, 1934 in Clifton Forge to the late Sinker and Zella Caldwell Hyler. He served in the United States Army, and was an equipment operator for the City of Clifton Forge Public Works Department. He was a member of Lighthouse Ministries of Clifton Forge and loved professional wrestling and playing guitar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Teaford Hyler; a granddaughter, Emily Humphries; and two sons-in-law, Tim Rutter and Blair Dodd. He is survived by five daughters, Lynn Francis Dodd of Iron Gate, Martha Rutter of Covington, Judith Hyler and her boyfriend of 17 years, Kenny Pullen, of Covington, Katherine Loan and husband Thomas of Clifton Forge, and April Humphries of Iron Gate; two sons, Dwayne Hyler and wife Bonnie of Clifton Forge, and Gerald Hyler and wife Theresa of Clifton Forge; a sister Joan Nicely of Clifton Forge; a brother, Glenn Hyler and wife Betty of Clifton Forge; and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Gordon Hammond officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. The grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
