Eva Hester Bennett (Oyler)
Eva Hester Oyler Bennett, age 91, of 5705 Longdale Furnace Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Monday, April 27, 2015 at Westmoreland Rehabilitation Center in Colonial Beach, Virginia. She was born November 12, 1923 in Low Moor to the late Leslie Ervin and Nora Wilcher Oyler. She was a homemaker and had worked for the former Industrial Rayon. She was a member of the Longdale United Methodist Church, and the Sharon Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Bennett, Jr. in 1988., and a son, Luke Wayne Bennett. She is survived by two sons, Paul Wesley Bennett and wife Dena Kaye of Colonial Beach, and Edward Ervin Bennett of Eagle Rock; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Marie Bennett of Daleville; a sister-in-law, Clara Bennett of Covington; a brother-in-law, Otis Bennett of Roanoke; a granddaughter, Kelly Rene Nipper and husband David; a great granddaughter, Chloe Nipper; and a multitude of nieces and nephews, which she viewed as daughters and sons. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM in Longdale United Methodist Church with Reverend Lester Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. Pallbearers will be Wade Bennett, Hayse Bennett and Tracy Cornwell. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
