John Author Hileman Jr.
John Author Hileman, Jr., age 71, of 45 Alleghany Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Saturday, March 28, 2015 at his residence. He was born March 16, 1944 in Clifton Forge to the late John Arthur Hileman, Sr. and Mildred Geneva Greaver Hileman. He retired with over 30 years as a barber in Clifton Forge, and also worked several years in housekeeping at Dabney S. Lancaster Community College. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, he loved the Duke Blue Devils and enjoyed fishing, hunting, the great outdoors and especially watching his grandchildren play ball. He was a loving husband, father, brother and Paw Paw. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Clara LaVerne Hileman; a daughter, Scarlet Renee Harden & husband Chris of Clifton Forge; a son, John A. Hileman III of Clifton Forge; a sister, Mary Beth Butler and husband William of Richmond; four grandchildren, Catie Hileman, Meagan Thornhill, Erin Elizabeth Harden and Christopher Harden; two special "sisters", Susie Wallace and Kathy Campbell; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Christian Wake service will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Father Tom Collins officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, PO Box 637, Clifton Forge, Va. 24422. "Gone Fishin"
