Kenneth Kyle Keyser
Kenneth Kyle Keyser, 83 of 1905 Oakwood Drive, Clifton Forge, died Saturday December 20, 2014 at LewisGale Hospital- Alleghany. He was born December 16, 1931 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Delma Fridley Keyser and Eddie Arnold Keyser. He was retired from the City of Roanoke where he worked in the Mechanical Department. However he was best known in the community as a sales representative for the Jewel Tea Company. He graduated from Central High School, class of 1951, was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served in Korea. He was also a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Clifton Forge where he attended the Men's Bible Study Class. He was preceded in death by a infant daughter; a brother, John Edward Keyser; and two sisters, Patty Keyser and Ellen Keyser Stull. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Scruggs Keyser of Clifton Forge; a daughter, Robin Pullen and husband Eddie of Kingsport Tennessee; a son, Steven Kyle Keyser and wife Joanna of Martinsville; a brother, James William Keyser and wife Millie of Abingdon; a brother-in-law, Bobby Scruggs, of Clifton Forge, a sister-in-law, Mary Hayse of Radford; four grandchildren, Andy Pullen, Kate Hall and husband Brandon, Sarah Beth Keyser, and Zachary Kyle Keyser; and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday from the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with the Reverend W. Pembroke Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Graveside military rites will be conducted at the graveside by members of the Curtis A. Smith VFW Post 1033. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephews, and honorary pallbearer will be Bobby Scruggs. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations in his memory be made to the Men's Bible Class of the Central United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 16, Clifton Forge, Va. 24422. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Nicely Funeral Home.
