Sheree Lynette Carter Hodge, age 50, of 514 North Greenbrier Ave, Covington died Saturday, July 10, 2010 at her residence. She was born November 6, 1959 in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, a daughter of Frederick and Sara Preston Carter of White Sulphur Springs. She was employed as a spa attendant at The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs and was a member of St James United Methodist Church of White Sulphur Springs. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Anthony Troy Hodge of Covington; three daughters, Aaliyah Hodge of Covington, Shanell Carter of Richmond, and Chana Haynes of Roanoke; a step son, Demetrius Holloway of Covington; three step daughters, Ashley Dooley and Nicole Dooley, both of North Carolina and Alisha Napier of Roanoke; a sister, Shelvene Emory of Atlanta, GA; a brother, Broderick Carter of Atlanta, GA; her grandmother, Alice Genevive Banks of White Sulphur Springs; two grandchildren, Allanah Myers and Elijah Myers; aunt, Sharon Banks of White Sulphur Springs; devoted aunt Carmen Nash; her mother-in-law, Barbara Hodge of Virginia; a sister-in-law, Deborah Carter of Virginia; two brothers-in-law, Derrick Hodge of North Carolina and George Isaac Emory of Atlanta; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Javor Haynes; her grandfather, James Preston, Sr.; and two uncles, James Preston, Jr. and Houston Preston. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Greg Scott and Reverend Ed Vallandingham officiating and Elder Randy Jackson delivering the eulogy. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. Pallbearers will be Chops Hall, Demetrius Holloway, Steve Hunter, Eugene Hunter, Orlando Clark, and Clarence Hunter. Friends may call anytime at Nicely Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 12:30 PM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home or other times at the residence on 514 N. Greenbrier Ave., Covington.
