Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Bruffey Higgins Richmond, age 41, of 313 Roxbury Street, Clifton Forge died Monday, June 7, 2010 at Alleghany Regional Hospital, Low Moor. Born September 22, 1968 in Palatka, Florida, she was a daughter of Dorothy Southers and the late Clarence Richard Bruffey. She was a waitress at Whites Truck Stop and was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her husband, William Richmond of Clifton Forge, her mother and step father, Dorothy and Dale Southers of Clifton Forge, a daughter, Carissa Higgins and friend Toby Simmons of Clifton Forge, two sons, John David Higgins and Jimi Soto, both of Clifton Forge, four sisters, Leona Persinger and friend Donnie Cardova of Washington, Kathy Brown and husband Tracey of Clifton Forge, Melissa Reid and husband Billy of Clifton Forge and Tina Persinger of Clifton Forge, a brother, Marshall Persinger and wife Leslie of Clifton Forge, three grandchildren, Jamir Higgins, Ambrosia Higgins, David Howard Higgins, and a fourth grandchild expected in September, a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins, and special friends, Tom Simmons and Brittney Crouch. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge with Reverend Mike Rollins officiating. Interment will follow. Pallbearers will be Robert Morgan, Darrell Combs, Michael Davenport, Monroe Persinger, Tom Simmons, Tommy Loan, Shane Cox and Bobby Webb. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge and other times at the residence, 313 Roxbury Street, Clifton Forge, VA.
