Letha Pearl Whitaker Wills, 84, of 1020 Hamilton Ave., Clifton Forge died Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor. She was born at Lockbridge in Summers County, West Virginia on October 24, 1925, a daughter of the late John and Martha Adeline Prater Whitaker. She had worked at the former H.O. Canfield for a number of years and was a retired molder at Acadia Polymers in Iron Gate. Mrs. Wills was a graduate of Hinton High School, and was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Clifton Forge. She had a great love of her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Willie Howard Wills in 1992. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Marie Buchanan, Mae Goddard, Myrtle Waugh, Mary Virginia Whitaker and Grace Whitaker, and by brothers Orval Whitaker, Ernie Whitaker, Lawrence Whitaker and John Whitaker. She is survived by 2 daughters, Janice Marie Wills and husband Michael of Clifton Forge and Carol Sue Armstrong and husband Arnold of Iron Gate; a son William Joseph "Billy Joe" Wills and wife Nelda of Short Gap, West Virginia; a sister Beulah Foster of Troutville; 2 brothers Ted Whitaker and wife Margaret of Maryland and Paul Whitaker and wife Phyllis of Hinton, West Virginia; six grandchildren, Missy Linkenhoker and husband Mark, Eric Armstrong and wife Sara, Lorrie Wolff and husband Scott, Shellie Ujcic and husband Steve, Kathy Caldwell and husband Jerry and Todd Wills and partner Marcia Oliver; 12 Great Grandchildren, Jamie Ujcic, Jenna Ujcic, Rebekah Wolff, Clint Wolff, Mandy Caldwell, Matt Caldwell, Brad Armstrong, Caleb Armstrong, Tyler Linkenhoker, Logan Linkenhoker, Lexi Wills and Linden Wills; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special friends Archie and Nancy Wells, Mrs. Basil Ingram, Zernie Campbell, and Shelby White and many other close friends. A Funeral Service will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. from the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Pastor Bill Dillon officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. Active pallbearers will be Mark Linkenhoker, Todd Wills, Scott Wolff, Steve Ujcic, Eric Armstrong and Jerry Caldwell. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Nicely Funeral Home. Friends may call other times at the residences of Jan and Mike Wills, 1100 Acacia Avenue, Clifton Forge or at the residence of Carol and Arnold Armstrong, 908 Alleghany Avenue, Iron Gate.
