Obituary

George Samuel "Chuck" Brown, age 71, of 1873 Crooked Spur Rd, Millboro died Thursday, January 28, 2010 at his residence. He was born on May 17, 1938 in Millboro, Virginia, a son of the late Clarence and Thelma Sherman Brown. He served in the United States Air Force and was retired from the signal department of Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad. He was a member of Millboro Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Frederick "Bebo" Brown and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Brown. He is survived by a sister, Sara Clarke of Newport News, a sister-in-law, Brenda Brown of Millboro, a nephew, Jeff Clarke and wife Kathee of Virginia Beach and a niece, Faith Poole and husband James of Rockbridge Baths. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend John Haney officiating. Interment will follow in Bratton Cemetery, Millboro. Pallbearers will be Jessee Simmons, Nelson Campbell, Ernie Townsend, Phillip Clark, Billy Deitz, and James Poole. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:30 PM until time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
