Obituary

Robert James "Bobby" Dame, age 80, of 2317 Selma-Low Moor Rd, Low Moor, died Monday, January 25, 2010 at Alleghany Regional Hospital, Low Moor. He was born on November 21, 1929 in Low Moor, Virginia to the late William Kelly and Mary Dame. He served in the United States Army and was retired from Acadia Polymers. He was a member of Edgemont Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Whiteside Dame and an uncle, Oscar Lewis Dame. He is survived by a son, Terry W. Dame and girlfriend Vicki Evans of Natural Bridge; a sister, Julia Green of Indiana; a half sister, Jo Ann Smith of Texas; a half brother, Danny Mason Steber of Indiana; three grandchildren, Seth Michael Dame, Tiffany Breanna Dame and Colton Bryce Dame; and his mother-in-law, Agnes C. Whiteside of Natural Bridge. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Donnie Bowker officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Cemetery, Low Moor. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Men's Bible Class of Edgemont Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Edgemont Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 2306 S. Church St, Covington, VA 24426.
